Set List | Card Translations | Visual Set List | Selected Proxies | New Decks
With the arrival of Shrouded Fable in August, we’ll have a handful of new decks joining the fray. As always, some decks are better than others—some are meme tier and some are merely playable, fun decks without much competitive promise. Lists below are very rough drafts and are intended as a starting place for testing, not as tournament-ready deck lists. Consider creating and using proxies to test cards you don’t already own prior to making any purchases.
United Wings
BASIC STRATEGY
Using every discarding resource in the deck, put all or most of your “United Wings” attackers in the discard pile. Then, attach Energy to Ditto to use its Sudden Transformation Ability to copy the United Wings attack from your discarded “United Wings” attackers. As necessary, use Night Stretcher to recover a specific United Wings attacker to hit for Weakness against your opponent’s Pokémon.
KEY CARDS
United Wings attackers (Flamigo PAL 170, Murkrow PAL 131, Wattrel PAL 80, and Dartrix SFA 4)
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
The ACE SPEC Legacy Energy instead of Surprise Box to deny your opponent a Prize card when one of your Pokémon is Knocked Out.
Thorton to remove Benched liabilities, like Squawkabilly ex or Fezandipiti ex, when needed.
Earthen Vessel to serve both as a means of discarding United Wings attackers and as an additional out to Basic Darkness Energy.
Pokégear 3.0 in lieu of Tatsugiri and Rescue Board, leaving fewer non-attacking Pokémon in play.
Trekking Shoes to dig through the deck with greater gusto, also providing another possibility for discarding United Wings Pokémon.

Kingdra ex
BASIC STRATEGY
Working toward getting out a Kingdra ex out so that you can use its Royal Command attack to put up to 3 Water Pokémon from your discard pile onto your Bench—ideally Baxcalibur, Kyurem VMAX, and Feralitagtr, but an additional Kingdra ex when one or more of them isn’t a possibility. Attack with Kingdra ex’s Hydro Pump, which does 50 damage plus 50 more damage for each Water Energy attached to it, with Kyurem VMAX’s Max Frost attack, which does 120 damage plus 50 damage for each Water Energy card discarded from Kyurem VMAX, or with Feraligatr’s Giant Wave attack, which does 160 damage but can be boosted to 280 damage by making use of Feraligatr’s Torrential Heart Ability.
KEY CARDS
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR ASR 40 for an additional means of rapidly attaching Water Energy to your Water Pokémon once per game with its Star Portal VSTAR Power, when needed.

Kyurem VMAX
BASIC STRATEGY
Evolve Kyurem V into Kyurem VMAX and power it up with a combination of manual attachments, Kyurem V’s Sudden Freeze attack, Kyurem VMAX’s Snow World Ability, and Power Hourglass. Attack with Kyurem VMAX’s Max Frost attack, which does 120 damage plus 50 damage for each Water Energy card discarded from Kyurem VMAX. Setup the top card of your deck to your advantage with Ciphermaniac’s Codebreaking or with Night Academy.
KEY CARDS
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex TWM 64 to give the deck a sniping option via its Torrential Pump attack, which does 100 damage to the Active Spot and 120 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon. In a pinch, its Sob attack can also be used to stall as it can trap 1 of your opponent’s Pokémon in the Active Spot by making it unable to retreat.

Charizard ex
BASIC STRATEGY
Build your board up by getting a Pidgey or two into play alongside as many Charmander as you can, evolving your Charmander into Charizard ex from Obsidian Flames as quickly as possible with the help of Forest Seal Stone and Pidgeot ex’s Quick Search. Accelerate Fire Energy via Charizard ex’s Infernal Reign Ability. As needed, play down and evolve Duskull into Dusclops or Dusknoir to take advantage of their Cursed Blast Abilities, which let you know them out in exchange for letting you place 5 and 13 damage counters on 1 of your opponent’s Pokémon respectively, potentially taking KOs, but also helping to boost the damage of Charizard ex’s Burning Darkness attack.
KEY CARDS
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
A thin Bibarel line, in addition to Pidgeot ex.

Okidogi ex
BASIC STRATEGY
Using the deck’s Energy acceleration options—Dark Patch and Janine’s Secret Technique—attach Energy to either Okidogi ex, when combatting multi-prize Pokémon, or Munkidori ex, when combatting single-prize Pokémon. Attack with their respective attacks, taking KOs on your opponent’s Pokémon. As needed use Pecharunt ex’s Controlling Chaos Ability to push 1 of your Darkness-typed Pokémon that isn’t Pecharunt ex into the Active Spot and do 40 additional damage with Binding Mochi when that Pokémon is Poisoned by the Ability’s effect.
KEY CARDS
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
Darkrai VSTAR ASR 99 for its Star Abyss VSTAR Power to recover 2 Item cards from your discard pile—like Dark Patch, Night Stretcher, or Lost Vacuum.
Mew ex MEW 151 as both a pivot and an additional draw option with its Restart Ability, which lets you draw until you have 3 cards in your hand.
Morpeko PAR 121 as both a pivot and as a single prize attacking option to take down your opponent’s lower-HP Pokémon and heavily-damaged Pokémon.
