Set Lists | Card Translations | Visual Set Lists | Selected Proxies | New Decks
With the arrival of Black Bolt and White Flare in July, we’ll have a handful of new decks joining the fray. As always, some decks are better than others—some are meme tier and some are merely playable, fun decks without much competitive promise. Lists below are very rough drafts and are intended as a starting place for testing, not as tournament-ready deck lists. Consider creating and using proxies to test cards you don’t already own prior to making any purchases.
Serperior ex
Illus. PLANETA Igarashi
BASIC STRATEGY
Power up Serperior ex with Ignition Energy and either a manual attachment of a Grass Energy or by using an Energy Switch to pull an Energy off a Teal Mask Ogerpon ex. As advantageous, attack with either Serperior ex’s Grass Order, which does 150 damage and lets you search your deck for up to 3 cards and put them into your hand, or with Teal Mask Ogerpon ex’s Myriad Leaf Shower, which does 30 damage plus 30 more damage for each Energy attached to both Active Pokémon.

Emboar Box
Illus. Teeziro
BASIC STRATEGY
Play down and evolve Tepig into Emboar to make use of Emboar’s Inferno Fandango Ability, which reads, “As often as you like during your turn, you may attach a [R] Energy card from your hand to 1 of your Pokémon.” Flood your board with Fire Energy, pulling Energy from your deck with Earthen Vessel and Superior Energy Retrieval, as necessary. Use the deck’s toolbox of attackers as needed, including Ho-Oh, with its Shining Blaze attack, Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon ex with its Wrathful Heart and Dynamic Blaze attacks, and Reshiram ex, with its Slash and Blaze Burst attacks.

Miraidon ex + Eeleketrik
Illus. kantaro & Jerky
BASIC STRATEGY
Set up with the assistance of Miraidon ex’s Tandem Unit Ability. Accelerate energy into play via Electric Generator, Eelektrik’s Dynamotor, and Magneton’s Overvolt Discharge. Attack using Miraidon ex’s Photon Blaster attack, which does 220 damage and prevents Miraidon ex from attacking next turn. Go after more vulnerable Pokémon with Iron Hands ex and its Amp You Very Much attack, which does 120 damage and lets you take an additional Prize Card when taking a knockout.

Gardevoir ex + Jellicent ex
Illus. N-DESIGN Inc. & PLANETA Igarashi
BASIC STRATEGY
Play down and evolve Ralts into Kirlia, or with Rare Candy, into Gardevoir ex. Play down and evolve Frillish into Jellicent ex, keeping it in the Active Spot to disrupt your opponent with its Oceanic Curse Ability, which reads, “As long as this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, your opponent can't play any Item cards or attach any Pokémon Tool cards from their hand.” Use Gardevoir ex Psychic Embrace Ability to attach Psychic Energy from your discard pile to your Pokémon to prepare them to attack. Use Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Scream Tail, Jellicent ex, and even Gardevoir ex itself to take knockouts as needed.
